About me and about this blog

New stuff means unanswered questions, and Frogans technology is really new stuff.

My name is Joe Cady. I started working with STG Interactive (the French company behind everything that is frogans) a few years back designing visuals for frogans demos. Being that English is my native language I recently tried my hand at translating and verifying STG Interactive’s English-language documentation. Well, one thing led to another, and I pretty soon found out that I was able to talk and write about a lot of the aspects of Frogans technology.

What makes talking about Frogans technology challenging is that it’s built on an unusual set of concepts. In an age of Web browser wars, conflicting standards, and the proliferation of widgets of questionable compatibility and security, Frogans technology goes against the grain with a simple approach: The addressing system, the publishing language, and the client-side application are optimized for working together, insuring universal accessibility and maximum security for the end-user.

STG Interactive has developed the Frogans Network System Language (FNSL) for frogans addressing, and the Frogans Slide Description Language (FSDL) for publishing frogans slides. Authors create frogans slides using FSDL, which assembles and processes their graphics and text, and allows them to create roll-over hyper-linked buttons without HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and so on. Finally they developed the Frogans Player, a client-side application that implements FNSL and FSDL to deliver frogans slides to the end user.

The Three-Legged Approach

All this is to create a medium of communication and navigation on the Internet that’s simple, appealing, extremely secure, and compatible. That’s the basics. It’s like a three-legged table that can only stand up if all of the parts are there.

My goal here is to describe the legs so as to give people an idea of what that table is all about. It’s up to all of us to visualize the sum of all the parts, and ultimately to put that table to use.

Here goes…
